Abut the Lyrics

An index

a little bit about the lyrics and what brought each of them about.
  • Living at the end of the free world.
USA going insane with the current SOPA and PIPA legislation being driven by aging entertainment dinosaurs that will cripple the net and stifle any free flow of information. All so they can hold on to an ever dwindling market share for their low quality products.
  • Throwaway joe
People squeezed dry and their shells discarded by the corporate greed for never ending maximizing of profits.
  • Pirate Trade
Many an honest folk driven to desperation by unfair taxation and seizures of their positions enter the life of the outlaw just to be able to survive.
But is this tale of old or happening now once more
  • War Cry
Over time the names may change but the campaigns to downsize and transfer work to the lowest cost country never end. By whatever name they are called it always mean hardship and sorrow for the rank and file workers. When everyone is gone, who will be able to buy all the shiny products made in the low cost solution countries.
A self fulfilling prophesy of doom
  • Ghost Winds
Ever step out into the night and feel there is something being carried on the air bringing up instant memories of good times past.
  • Low End People
The walmartization of our society, in our rush to get things cheap we are supporting every other country except our own people. Then wonder why our jobs are vanishing and our economy is in the dumper.
  • Mole People
Comment on the downtown city crowd with all the underground warrens. You can travel underground anywhere in a city like Toronto and never need to come up into the sunlight.
  • Pager Blues
Life under a corporate leash were they expect you at their beck and call 25 hours a day. Every day.
  • Wage Slave Blues
Working for companies that don't respect their workers. Constantly cut wages, and benefits to improve the profit margins. Lately a new trend is emerging they won't pay for mandatory overtime. All possible as they move jobs from one "low cost country solution" to another. Usually jump as soon as the foreign workers try to stand up for their rights and get paid fairer wages. Massive numbers of IT jobs have jumped from the US & Canada to Mexico then to Brazil then Argentina then Russia, now to India, and lately to China. As the investors try to stay ahead of the demand for living wages and safe work environments. The sentiment is you don't like it you can always leave and go live in a cardboard box. Although with the large amounts of mandatory unpaid overtime many employees would make more an hour working at a fast food joint.

Thought fragments
that have yet to grow into something.
